Curriculum History
Our Vision: To deliver an ambitious knowledge rich curriculum which inspires curiosity and prepares students for life beyond school.
At Key Stage 3 we aim to inspire students’ curiosity and equip them to ask perceptive questions, think critically, and begin to analyse evidence in order to develop their own opinions of past events.
Students are encouraged to devise their own theories and find evidence to support them. Across the three years students develop their understanding of historical concepts such as continuity and change, cause and consequence, significance and source evaluation skills.
Year 7:
In Year 7 we study the Medieval Realms which includes The Norman Conquest, King John and The Black Death
Year 8:
In Year 8 we study the French Revolution, Black Peoples of the Americas and the Industrial Revolution
Year 9:
In Year 9 the British Empire is studied, as well as the causes and effects of both World Wars.
